About ESLflow

Three Decades of Creative ESL Teaching Resources

The Story Behind ESLflow

ESLflow was created in 1998 as a resource for researching ESL/EFL ideas and creating lessons and courses as quickly as possible. For over 30 years, this site has served millions of English language learners and teachers worldwide with engaging, contemporary teaching materials.

What started as a collection of links to interesting teaching materials has evolved into a comprehensive resource featuring multi-modal learning materials with visual elements, audio components, and critical thinking exercises designed for today’s diverse learners.

About Peter Snashall

I’m Peter Snashall, the creator and curator of ESLflow. I teach ESL at Huachiew Chalermprakiet University in Bangkok, Thailand, where I’ve been helping students develop their English language skills for over 25 years.

I hold teaching credentials from Macquarie University and an MA in History, which gives me a unique perspective on language teaching that combines pedagogical expertise with a deep appreciation for context and culture.

Our Teaching Philosophy

ESLflow focuses on engaging topics relevant to students’ lives today. Our materials reflect modern workplace realities including AI integration, hybrid work environments, digital culture, and emerging technologies. We’ve moved beyond outdated topics like basic email writing to focus on the communication skills students actually need today.

All materials emphasize visual learning, audio reinforcement, and critical thinking exercises that engage students at multiple levels. We believe language learning should be creative, engaging, and immediately applicable to students’ lives.
